Description

The warmest offering in Therm-a-Rest's innovative line of inflatable mattresses, the NeoAir XTherm is a lightweight, packable option for cold-weather and year-round use. Its 5.7 R-value is far warmer than traditional inflatable pads.

Unlike the limited number of vertical baffles employed by many traditional inflatable pads, the NeoAir XTherm utilizes horizontal air baffles. Therm-a-Rest's Triangular Core Matrix technology and the increased number of baffles help to minimize convective cooling, increase stability and eliminate the "inflatable raft" feeling caused by overinflated vertical baffles. In addition, stacked ThermaCapture reflective internal barriers actually direct heat back to your body and cold air back to the ground!

The inflatable construction provides a full 2.5"-thick base of support. Lightweight, high-tenacity materials offer durability while maintaining an incredibly light packed weight. And soft, textured non-slip surface fabrics offer next-to-skin comfort that’s also quiet when you move around on the mattress. When deflated, the NeoAir XTherm packs down as small as a 1-liter water bottle.

The Therm-a-Rest NeoAir XTherm is available in Regular (20" x 72") and Large (25" x 77") size options. A repair kit is included for unexpected emergencies along with a stuff sack and medium pump sack for ease of storage and inflation.

  • Inflatable sleeping pad
  • Patent pending reflective barrier technology gives XTherm 4-season warmth without added weight or bulk
  • Light, durable fabrics for a smaller pack size and dependability in the backcountry
  • Suitable for year-round use

Warm Boat Anchor

Likes

It's warm, I switch over to this pad around September.

Dislikes

It's Heavy. The weird inflation sack is strange & I don't ever bring it. The provided stuff sacks are awkwardly sized.

An incredible sleeping pad

Likes

It is very warm and lightweight. I would say it has the most incredible R-value I've ever owned. Of course it comes with a pump sack and a repair kit.

Dislikes

None for now.

Good insulated pad but loud & noisy

Likes

Great insulation height from ground and good for side sleepers Long size pad is light weight and wide.

Dislikes

Loud and very noisy. It wakes up anyone near my tent if toss and turn. some of the pads don't hold air. I've to return first pad and get a working pad.

sliced instantly

Likes

it was comfortable while it lasted

Dislikes

I cannot blame the sleeping pad entirely but it sliced on a rock that I missed about 3 seconds into my trip.

Great Lightweight Backpacking Pad

Likes

This pad is super light and super compact, and it is wonderful addition to backpacking trips. The insulation also helps lock in the warmth if you will be traveling through cooler climate zones. I've found this pad to be super comfortable in my limited use so far, and it is my go to pad when I am solo backpacking at any time of the year.

Dislikes

Cost. It is much more expensive than other pads, but in my opinion it is worth spending a bit more to ensure comfort and warmth while backpacking.

Excellent

Likes

Kept me off the ground. It was firm enough to keep me clear of the ground but soft enough I didn't toss and turn. I honestly could care less about the noise. Once I was laying down and still it was quiet. Better a little noise and a good sleep. I also like that it rolls up very small compared to my other pads and is several ounces lighter.

Dislikes

None.

Warm and Comfy

Likes

As a side/stomach sleeper, this sleeping pad provides ample cushion. The R-value on this pad is no joke; you can feel the warmth from the sleeping pad immediately. As a cold sleeper, this pad keeps me nice and warm. My first night using it in the high Sierras, I actually became too warm and had to take off a few layers which never happens to me.

Dislikes

It does make a crinkly noise when you move. However, it's not that bad (and not as bad as the normal NeoAir Xlite) and didn't bother me at all when I slept, even with lots of tossing and turning.

Just what I needed, and nothing more

Likes

The size and R-value are both unbeatable, and I love the inflation sack that comes with it, as well as how easy it is to deflate the mattress a little to find the preferred level of firmness. I get why some people have a hard time with how narrow it is, but as a side-sleeper it’s not a problem, and it’s worth the weight that it saves.

Dislikes

Nothing that I dislike so far! It’s the nicest pad that I have ever owned.
