For the record, I am 6", ~200lbs and physically fit. I bought the long. It is VERY roomy, VERY warm and VERY comfortable. The insulation doesn't even begin to compress anywhere while lying on my side and the girth + pad straps keep it from twisting up or sliding off when moving around. Also for the record the comfort rating on this bag is EN-certified 14f. The 0 rating is the lower limit. That's fine. The weight speaks for itself, but as far as the bulk goes, you can compress it down to the stated, manageable pack size. You have to do it right, though, or else you'll tear the straps off. "Right" = Compress it with your body weight and then tighten up the straps. For me, I love this sleeping bag and backpacking it is no problem, but then I use a 75L Gregory Baltoro or a 90L Kelty Redcloud when I'm packing things like this. Given the weight, if you try to put it at the bottom of your pack or use a pack with weak support, you're going to feel every single ounce of it. Use a good pack (a *good* pack, not one of those "just as good as" packs from Amazon) and load it somewhere around the middle and it's not that heavy.

The compression sack. It works, but the straps are only single stitched and that's cheap. The closure is a drawcord instead of a roll top, but without a vent I guess it has to be. The zipper. It's a nice zipper. It runs smooth and is almost impossible to snag, but about the last 6-8 inches is difficult to get zipped up. On the upside, it also has a captured zipper at the bottom for ventilation. The closure at the top of the zipper. This thing fastens with a tiny snap. Because the bag is so big the snap is secure, but getting it snapped while zipped up in the bag is no fun at all. I cannot believe they didn't use Velcro here, or at least a bigger snap. I wish the stash pocket was on the inside. The storage sack. Nothing whatsoever wrong with this other than it should be bigger because you still have to compress the bag a little bit to get it in there. I use a big mesh laundry bag instead. Only costs about $8. Conclusion: The dislikes are all trivial. If you need a super warm, super comfy bag that's reliable and doesn't lie about it's temperature rating and you're either on a tight budget or need synthetic insulation specifically, this is the one you want, for sure!

Bomber sleeping bag

Incredibly well built bag. This bag delivers on every level. 12 degrees F, no problem, this bag laughs at cold weather. 0 degree sleeping pad and a 4 season tent, no problem. Super plush, lots of insulation and comfy. Perfectly roomy. Oversized baffles really keep the heat locked in. Certainly not a backpacking bag. Synthetic insulation really is fantastic for condensation mitigation in cold temps. Excellent product. Go Thermarest.

Warm and spacious

warm: I have used it with the hypothermia principle and in a couple of minutes I have managed to regain body heat. spacious: the large interior compartment allows you to adopt any position and move freely.

Bulky: the second time I compressed it inside its bag, one of the straps, broke. the solution was a great success. I bought the Blockerlite Pump Sack and now the volume is more malleable (with the compression bag, it was an oval and rigid bulge); Also, it is protected against water (before, I tested it on an Osprey UltraLight DrySack 20). Lastly, the watertight bag, I use it to inflate my Therm-a-Rest NeoAir.
