Built for making access to the backcountry easy, Tubbs Mountaineer snowshoes tackle steep ascents and technical winter hiking. Advanced bindings, rugged construction and high performance features make the shoes comfortable to wear and durable against wear and tear.
Tubbs was the first manufacturer to offer snowshoes designed specifically for women, introducing women's specific bindings in 1998. Anatomic and ergonomic adjustments are made to each binding to provide the female snowshoe enthusiast with the fit, comfort and performance she deserves. Accounting for the fact that, on average, women have a shorter walking stride than men, Tubbs has tapered the tail on women's specific models to be narrower than the tails found on men's snowshoes, allowing the user to maintain a more natural stride.
The snowshoes utilize innovative R2 articulation to deliver comfort and maneuverability. This system allows for shock-absorbing lateral flex and quick sidehill responsiveness while maintaining a natural foot position. Integrated rotation limitation helps to shed snow and allows the toe crampon to bite deeply without over-rotating.
The Active Fit 2.0 binding system features a TPU cinch strap for ease of entry, control, and support while remaining secure. The TPU cinch strap decreases friction and ice buildup. The heel buckle is comfortable and easy to use. The frame and decking of the snowshoes promote improved flotation. The lower height nose packs easily, while the tail bend reduces impact on your joints. The carbon steel Anaconda toe crampons have eight sharp teeth to provide grip on all types of terrain. Aggressive Python heel crampons deliver enhanced downhill braking traction. Fold-up heel lifts make ascents less tiresome and more manageable.
Tubbs Mountaineer snowshoes are sold in pairs and are available in your choice of sizes (see Capacity field on the Specs Chart for size/weight recommendations).
