Description

After partnering to design her namesake Magda XT Women's pack with UltrAspire, Olympian and ultrarunner Magdalena Boulet tested the pack at the grueling Marathon Des Sables stage race in the Sahara. The close-fitting, top-loading pack served her well, as she won the race, and you can put that same performance to your own use!

A weight-hauling women's specific harness works in tandem with an adjustable wrap-around waistbelt to stabilize your load and promote balance. The broad, honey-combed mesh fabric that comprises the harness maximizes breathability and next-to-skin comfort. The pack's reinforced XT fabric has an impressive strength-to-weight ratio and is extremely tear-resistant. Dual sternum straps allow you to fine tune fit and eliminate "bounce" without restricting breathing. The pack comes in a single size that best fits chests measuring 28"-48".

The large 20 liter main compartment is accessed beneath a streamlined "lid" that also serves as a large zippered top pocket. A large stretch mesh pocket runs across the lower portion of the back of the pack and minimalist compression straps running over the pocket help to keep the contents of the pack safely secured. Those straps also enable you to stash additional gear externally. Two large stretch pockets on the front harness comfortably carry water bottles (not included). There are also zippered waistbelt pockets to keep small items in easy reach. The pack also features ice axe loops and shock cord attachments for trekking poles.

Had potential but one major flaw

Likes

The pockets on the waist belt and shoulder straps are great and the top-loading design with a lid is nice and simple. Quite a bit of adjustment in the shoulder straps even for a smaller person. I really like the color.

Dislikes

The chest straps have no height adjustment, which is a huge design oversight in a supposed one-size-fits-all women's pack. The top one cuts awkwardly across the upper part of the breast area...it needs a sliding-rail adjustment to be able to get it above there like many packs have. This is annoying and a deal-breaker for me...ended up returning it. Unfortunate, because other than that issue it seemed well-designed.
