Description

  • Solid titanium construction that weighs just one ounce!
  • Multi-fuel capability: fuel opening facing up for alcohol, or flipped over with the indented bottom facing up for fuel tabs or various fuel gels.
  • All-season, all-terrain usability.
  • Prongs on both sides act as pot supports or legs that can be anchored to the ground for stability and fold up for ultra-compact storage.
  • Wide opening for fast filling and easy recovery of unused fuel.
  • Simple to use with minimal maintenance required.

WARNINGS:
  • Use only in a well-ventilated area. Never use the stove indoors.
  • Only use denatured, ethyl, or methyl alcohol, solid stove fuel tabs, or fuel gels as fuel. Attempting to burn other fuels such as white gas, kerosene, unleaded gas, etc. will potentially cause an explosion and serious injury.
  • Be sure the flame is fully extinguished and the stove is completely cooled before refueling to prevent flare ups.
  • Always anchor stove legs into the ground to prevent the lit stove from tipping over.

Tricky to use

Likes

Featherweight, built-in stabilizer legs and pot legs - stove stability can be important with flaming alcohol. It felt a good bit safer to me than the flaming open cat-can stove.

Dislikes

Takes a long time to get going and the flames to sprout/bloom. I also found it took longer to boil 2C than expected. I used a homemade aluminum sheet pan windscreen. I've read the trick is to hold a lighter/match flame underneath for a bit to speed it up and set the windscreen very close. Will try that next.
