With its high-performance water-repellent DownTek insulation and a roomy semi-rectangular shape, the Big Agnes Anvil Horn 15 Degree sleeping bag is ideal for 3-season backpacking.

With its high-performance water-repellent DownTek insulation and a roomy semi-rectangular shape, the Big Agnes Anvil Horn 15 Degree sleeping bag is ideal for 3-season backpacking.

The bag is insulated with 650 fill DownTek insulation. Down insulation has long been renowned for its compressible properties and efficiency in delivering an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio. The shortcoming of down has been its susceptibility to the effects of moisture, losing much of its performance qualities when wet or damp. DownTek insulation utilizes nano technology and a proprietary application process to provide water-repellency and both anti-microbial and anti-bacterial protection. The polyester ripstop shell fabric features a water-repellent treatment and provides lightweight durability. A polyester taffeta lining provides next-to-skin comfort.

Insotect Flow technology is used to help eliminate cold spots regulate the movement of down inside the baffles and offer better body heat distribution. Strategically placed Flow Gate construction eliminates lateral and vertical down shifting by using vertical chambers with "gates" to control the position and density of the down insulation.

In a traditional sleeping system, the bag lies on top of a sleeping pad. In this configuration, many people find themselves rolling off the pad at night. Not only that, but the insulation on the bottom of the bag is often compressed by the sleeper's weight and, once compressed, the fill loses most of its insulating properties. The Big Agnes System is different and joins the bag and the pad together. A Flex Pad Sleeve on the bottom of the bag accommodates pads of varying lengths, widths, and thicknesses and ensures that the pad stays beneath you. It also enables the pad to deliver warmth and it allows Big Agnes to save weight and bulk by only lightly insulating the bottom of the bag itself. You'll stay warm and you can roll and move comfortably during the night without ever worrying about slipping off of your pad.

The bag is designed to be used with 20"-25" wide Big Agnes sleeping pads (sold separately) with an R-value or suggested temperature range to match the bag's temperature rating. The Wide Long size of the bag is best used with a 25"-30"wide pad. Big Agnes does recommend using a rectangular pad for optimal performance.

The bag also features a contoured and insulated hood, an internal "barn" to keep a pillow (sold separately) comfortably beneath your head, a roomy footbox, a no-draft collar, and a draft tube behind the anti-snag side zipper. There are internal loops that enable you to use a liner (sold separately) and external loops for drying or storing the bag when not in use.

Available in Regular (fits to 5'10"), Long (6' 6"), and Xlong (6' 6" with wider dimensions) size options, the Big Agnes Anvil Horn 15 Degree sleeping bag includes a mesh storage sack and a polyester ripstop stuff sack.

Awesome Big Agnes Anvil 15

This bag has completely exceeded all expectations. I especially like the built in spot for my air mat so you don’t roll off of it while you’re asleep. The bag maintained all body heat and is roomy enough to sleep in all positions as if you were in your bed at home. At 3.1 pounds for the extra long & wide version of this bag it’s perfect for those long multi day hikes. I honestly enjoy this bag so much I wanna sleep in it at home LOL. The rip stop zipper is durable but also protective in preventing the zipper from tearing the bag. The bag also comes with a great storage bag as well as a compression bag to stuff your bag in for the hike.

What’s not to like….. why did it take so long to learn about ? Great company with superior products that they stand behind 100%.

Great, comfortable bag!!!

My wife and I backpacked 7 miles in the Alaskan rainforest this past October. The sleeping bag was perfect for 30-40 degree weather we experienced. I do recommend a bivy cover for it as we experienced a lot of rain during our trip. However, the bag stayed dry the entire trip.

Needs a waterproof, breathable shell for a cover if you plan to use in rainy conditions.

A fantastic innovative design that really works!

This design keeps the sleeper on the pad and in their place. Takes an extra 30 seconds when setting up camp to attach to pad but it is time we’ll spent.

I expected it to be a bit lighter since there was no down under the sleeper. Temps got to mid 30s and I was cold. Would not use this bag below freezing without a liner or quality base layer.

A good one

My daughter was using a different sleeping bag, which she paired with the big agnes q-core slx pad, but complained about frequently sliding off the pad. So we purchased this sleeping bag which attaches directly to the pad. She now sleeps great and really likes the set up. The roomy shape of the bag also gives her legs some extra freedom to move around which adds to the comfort. Zipper and stitching are good quality. We use it for camping during the summer months and have no issues. Nice bag!

Very nice!

This sleeping bag is roomy, and comfortable. Even though it is light weight, it is still warm.

None so far.
