lightweight and roomy!

took this tent on our backpacking trip and it was lightweight (although there are a couple others that are lighter from big agnes-tiger wall and fly creek) but this tent was so roomy for us with lots of headspace. It comes with a built in LED lighting that was so convenient for us.
Dislikes
wish there were a couple more pockets inside the tent. The zippers tend to get stuck if you're not looking.

Best backpacking tent hands down.

I owned the first generation of the Copper Spur MtnGlo 2 and loved everything about it... I’m an avid backpacker/kayaker and travel all over the Rocky Mountains from Arizona to Montana. I’ve been in harsh weather and this tent holds up! It’s roomy for solo and not bad for two... Even used it for my sons and I when they were younger and I starting backpacking with them. The lights in the MtnGlo are a great addition and worth every penny to upgrade over the classic Copper Spur. Unfortunately though, that tent was stolen. But after some research it was an easy decision to repurchase the Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL2 MtnGlo. Only I had no idea there was some well deserved upgrades. More pockets for gear storage and a roomier ceiling makes this tent even better. The pole structure is more solid, the doors are better designed and it’s still one of the lightest 2 man tents on the market. Big Agnes really did a great job with the design upgrades. I can’t wait to get back out on the trail with this tent and make some memories. Huge thanks to Backcountry Edge for fast shipping and great service! You guys rock!

To fully stake this tent down with rainfly you’ll need 12 stakes. It only comes with 8 and need 4 more for the guylines. Also, I did wish it came with the footprint.

Overall Great Tent

Lots of room in the tent yet light enough to take in the backcountry. I really like the MTNGLO system and especially for all the light you get and it barely adds any weight to the tent. I have used this tent in downpours and storms and it help up fine. No leaks at all and I did not use a tarp or anything. Very solid all around.
Dislikes
It is expensive but I am a believer in you get what you pay for. Know that in the worst conditions that I will stay dry the price is worth it in that regard.

Fast set up, light weight.

Fast and easy for a single person to set up. LEDs are a cool feature.
Dislikes
LED lighting is not bright enough to use for reading as I like to do but definitely great for adding light if you just want to stay up and camp or find something quickly.

I am new to backpacking and love the ease in which everything just pops up together without much hassle and strain, love the lights and the skylight is awesome; two doors is a plus as well.
Dislikes
It should come with the foot print included for the price.

Super easy to setup. Poles and clips are color coded which makes it very quick and efficient to setup. Very spacious interior with a lot of headroom. Very lightweight material that dries quickly. I love this tent! Thanks Big Agnes for your ingenuity and quality gear. Thank you Backcountry Edge for your great customer service, helpful gear advice, and helpful video gear reviews.

Great backpacking tent

This may be the best combination of usable space vs packed weight. The MtnGlo feature works well and provides much more usable light than a headlamp when settling in for the night

Fabrics are extremely light weight. Can’t yet speak to durability but I can imagine this tent takes a gentle hand.

Perfect enough- no need to research to death. For weight, room, ease, and durability, (balance) it is an awesome choice. The mountain glow is surprisingly useful. Used the tent a ton..

The toggle placement for the roll up fly and tent doors are a little awkwardly placed and not easy to use. Don't know if there is a better solution. Only my experience though, others may love them.

Comfortable 2-person tent
Likes
This is a very spacious 2-person tent due to the verticality of the tent walls. My wife and I easily fit our Exped Double sleeping mat, with at least 1 foot of extra floorspace at the top for storage. The storage compartments are also very useful and very well placed. The mountain glow feature far exceeded our expectations and truly lights up the tent nicely. This tent is very lightweight and easy to set up and pack away. The new cross bars also make it quite sturdy in windy situations. Overall, we think we found the perfect tent for our backpacking trips!

The zippers catch on the the tent and fly easily.

Super light, well designed, great features

-Gear pockets, one in each corner at the head end plus one overhead that has an opening to run headphones -loops for a gear loft if you want or to hang items like a lantern or flashlight -2 doors: no climbing over your wife to get in or out at night and make her wish she married her boyfriend from high school -vestibule space outside both doors -it screams quality, from the smooth connecting, color-coded DAC feather lite pole system to the semi-circle zipper toggles to the little kickstand thing that pops up to hold open the vent on the rain fly. -built-in lighting is actually a lot cooler than I thought it would be: I didn't buy it for this feature but it is nice to have long lasting LED lighting overhead instead of using a headlamp at night
Dislikes
-it's ultralight, and that means ultralight materials that require extra care to avoid tearing, but I mean that's just the price you pay for going ultralight

Best tent out there. Tested. Just buy it.

Bought this tent after trying a Marmot Tungsten 2p and the high end Mountain Hardware Ghost UL2. This tent blows the two out of the water in every category. Just got back from a three day trip to Big Bend. We camped right on the ridge the first night and woke up to 60mph winds at 2am. The tent handled it SO well. The new design of the poles create much more stability than the previous year's model. BA also added more guy points that all have lines already attached and really easy to use tensioners which doesn't make it a pain to guy the tent well. All said you can setup and guy the whole tent in less than 5 mins. On this trip my buddy had the 2016 model and noticed a little condensation while I didn't have any. Again, I would attribute less condensation to the taller tent body (new design) as well as the perfected guy points.
Dislikes
I was definitely concerned about the tent floor on the rocks of the ridge where we setup. I def recommend the footprint but it's not cheap! The other thing I will say is that when you want to roll the tent fly doors open the clip is positioned awkwardly. Makes rolling the doors open properly a little difficult. Maybe personal preference... overall super impressed.
