Description

Specially-engineered women's fit: Deuter's SL packs are designed to fit a woman's form, as well as narrower and shorter builds that might not experience the best fit from standard-sized packs. The ergonomic design includes a shorter back length and contoured S-shaped shoulder straps that are set closer together for slimmer shoulders and taper at the ends for a precision fit that won't chafe. The ends of the hipbelt also taper in a more upright position with a conical shape to better fit wider hips.
Lightweight construction that doesn't sacrifice durability: The pack is made of 120D recycled polyamide which provides elasticity and keeps weight to a minimum while still being extremely durable and abrasion-resistant.
Elevated carrying performance for such a compact pack: The pack's LiteAir back system consist of a molded backpanel with a ventilated framework and integrated channels to keep air flowing across your back. Reinforced structure helps in load transfer. The result is a body-hugging fit with excellent flexibility and range of motion. The molded backpanel can be removed entirely to save weight if you only intend to carry a small, lightweight load.
Deuter's commitment to sustainable construction: A certified bluesign product, the pack features body fabric and components made using environmentally friendly, resource-efficient manufacturing practices. It is climate neutral, PFAS free, and is a Green Button certified product, confirming it meets Germany's demanding standards for sustainably produced textiles.

Very comfortable daypack

I have owned several daypacks over the years including, Osprey, Gregory, REI, Mystery Ranch, Patagonia, etc. But never a Deuter. I was hesitant to buy this Speed Lite Pro because of the running-style harness. Any well-endowed woman knows what I'm talking about. But I could not be happier with how this pack carries weight. It is, without a doubt, the most comfortable daypack I have ever worn. The harness distributes the weight wonderfully. I used it as my pack while hiking the Grand Canyon and Sedona, two places where multiple liters of water is necessary. This pack was very comfortable even when carrying 3.5 liters of water, a mid layer, raincoat and snacks. I cannot recommend it enough and would absolutely purchase this brand again.

Dislikes

A couple of drawbacks for my hiking style was hip belt pockets were difficult to open and close 1-handed. I do wish pack makers would just use straight zippers rather than curved. Mystery ranch nails this. Also, the stretch mesh does stretch, but does not recover very well. After just a few uses, the mesh all stretched out.
