Monster Backpack

It's huge and in typical Gregory fashion, it's very well made, super supportive and comfortable. The lid and hip belt pockets are much improved over the previous version, particularly the hip belt pockets which were comically small. Nice, heavy duty frame that differs from the frame on my older 75L Baltoro in that it's a full perimeter frame, not a Y shaped frame, but I don't know if this difference has to do with pack size or version. You'll find a handful of other changes over the previous model as well, some major and some minor, some good and some bad. One improvement that definitely needed to happen is the added flap on the front pocket buckle. This one little thing makes that pocket so much better.

Gone are the mismatched buckles that gave you options for where to clip them in, so no more using the side straps to wrap around the back of the pack. I never do this on my 75L, but it's nice to have the option. Also gone are the removable hydration/daypack AND the included rain cover. I don't care much about these things, but taking them away is a downgrade. Still Gregory continues with the goofy bottle pocket, removing an entire side pocket that would already hold a bottle just fine only to replace it with a pocket that won't really hold anything but a bottle. This design decision baffles me and other makers haven't followed suit for good reason, but I am partial to Gregory packs so I accept it... grudgingly.Anyway, other than that silly pocket it's a great pack and worth the money.
