Featuring the same collapsible pole technology found in many backpacking tents, the Helinox Cot Max Convertible has sprawling dimensions but is compact and lightweight.

Description

Featuring the same collapsible pole technology found in many backpacking tents, the Helinox Cot Max Convertible has sprawling dimensions but is compact and lightweight.

The cot utilizes durable DAC aluminum single-pole construction and breathable mesh to create supportive comfort while making set up easy. Despite its lightweight construction, the cot provides a generous 82.5" x 29.5" sleeping base and sits 6.5" off of the ground. The Cot Max Leg Converter Kit (16 pieces) allows you to lift the sleeping base further from the ground to create a high cot. NOTE: The kit is sold separately.

After a comfortable night of sleep, simply stow the Helinox Cot Max Convertible away in the zippered storage bag (23" x 7" x 7") with convenient grab handles.

  • Folding camp cot
  • Lightweight and durable construction
  • Simple, strong design is easy to set up
  • Handles create tension when closed
  • Storage bag with zipper closure and grab handles included
  • Converts into high cot with purchase of Helinox Cot Max Leg Converter Kit (sold separately)

awesome cot

I've transitioned to very firm, minimalist beds over the last decade and I actually got this as an everyday bed. I've had all sorts of bed setups during that time (at this point I find 'regular' mattresses to be completely intolerable) and this is by far the most comfortable yet. I've never slept on a cot and didn't think about the suspension aspect of it, but it's like a wonderful cross between a thin mattress and a hammock. And the design that Helinox came up with is elegant and incredibly effective... The tension is uniform across the whole surface, and the way the pieces fit together is a minimalist dream. It was easy to set up (does require some grip strength but I'm not very strong at the moment and was able to put it together without issue) and the leg extenders are surprisingly stable.

Dislikes

The main downside is that I have it set up on a slightly uneven tile floor and the cot kind of twangs and sounds a bit like a hide drum when I move around on it. A yoga mat under the feet and a Thermarest Ridgerest (the large size fits nicely) on top go a long way towards fixing this. But depending on how sensitive to sound you are, it's something to be aware of. Also, the portions of the bungee cords that were folded and exposed in the package look a little worn. Nothing too serious but hoping it won't become an issue over time.

Just got my Helinox Max and slept on it for one night in a garage. It delivers generous width and length. I’m 6’, 160lbs and my pillow utilizes the extra few inches. Also I tend to roll over quite a bit so the Max covers that as well. Don’t like anything hanging from the bed. I travel on a motorcycle so the extra ounces and inches of the Max don’t matter as much. It’s still much smaller than the Thermarest xl self inflating mattress I had before. I’m done with leaking mattressesand sleeping on uneven ground. As a bonus there’s an extra storage space underneath the cot. One think to keep in mind. This Max cot is 83” long and it will barely fit inside many 1-2 person tents. Assembly is straight forward. The legs require a firm grip to attach but nothing excessive. Very stable and quiet while attempting to roll over. Quality canvas with heavy duty diagonal stitching for extra durability. You should consider a thermal layer on the cot to protect you from the ground. This Helinox Max is my first and most likely last cot I will ever buy. Something tells me it’s a 10!

Dislikes

Obviously the price but the Enwild rebate did softened the full price blow.

Pricey, but no regrets

I purchased this to replace an uncomfortable cot I have. Not wanting to wait until next camping season, I slept on this a couple nights at home with a sleeping pad. It did not disappoint. Packs down small. Easy to set up. Very comfortable.

Dislikes

Only the price of admission, but money well spent.

Still early, but WOW

Was looking for a replacement for an old cot that was purchased randomly 10+ years ago. I loved that one, completely beat up, but still functional. But eventually the fabric along the side finally gave through, and I was sleeping on dirt. After combing through so many reviews, so many brands, I decided to take a leap of faith with this one. I've mostly done car camping, and am slowly making my way to backpacking. I'm amazed at how light this Helinox is. Sleeping underneath the warm summer night sky with the reassurance of being off the ground, couple uses so far and I'm loving it

Dislikes

It's expensive, no doubt about it.

Nailed it!

Likes

Very comfortable, easy to assemble, lightweight and durable. I am 6‘10“ / 240 pounds. Holds me well with plenty of length and width. Definitely worth the cost.

Dislikes

So far no dislikes. Six nights in and all is well.

Cot one is good, Cot max is great

Likes

Very comfy. You can sleep however you want. A huge leap compared to the Cot Lite. Comparable to the Cot one but a little bit wider makes a difference.

Dislikes

Cot one could be the more versatile one as it's lighter and only has three "legs".
