A super comfortable, high-backed camp chair, the Helinox Sunset Chair is perfect for the beach, campsites, or backyards. The chair utilizes durable DAC aluminum construction and a shock-corded design to offer supportive dimensions while packing down small.

Description

The in-use dimensions of the Sunset Chair stands 38.5” high and the seat is 23” wide and 28.5” deep. The taller profile of the chair offers excellent back support and the seat height of 17.5" makes it feel more like a standard chair than most camp furniture. Adding to the comfort, the included stuff sack can be packed out and used as a pillow with the hook and loop attachment panels.

Weighing 3 pounds 4 ounces, the Helinox Sunset Chair packs down to 18.5” x 4.5” x 5.5” and stows conveniently inside its included stuff sack. The chair has a weight capacity of 320 pounds.

Comfortable, lightweight chair is best of Helinox lineup.

I am a 6'-4" casual backpacker, and value comfort and portability. I compared this product in stores to Helinox Two and Helinox Savanna, and decided the Sunset combined the best features of both. I found the higher seat height of the Sunset and Savanna (both 17.5") made for a more natural, comfortable seating position than the Two (13.5"). This was significant enough to ignore the Two for the rest of my comparisons. The extra weight and price of the Savanna made the Sunset a better value. Cupholders on Savanna were not well built and extra chair height of 5.5" did not significantly increase comfort or usefulness of head rest, as pillow attachment point is too low on both. Sunset was 25% lighter and cost $50 less than the Savanna, so I had my clear winner.

Dislikes

Seat back is reclined slightly more than I would like, and pillow attachment is too low. If you are under 6' (height where pillow attachment would work for Savanna) and use a chair mostly for casual camping, I would recommend the Savanna instead.
