Description

The Kelty Cosmic 20 Degree sleeping bag is ideal for 3-season backpacking and camping. Lightweight, hydrophobic DriDown fill and an array of features make the affordable sleeping bag a real bargain.

The Cosmic 20 Degree sleeping bag is insulated with 600-fill power DriDown. Renowned for their efficiency in retaining heat and compressible properties, the feathers and fibers of down have an incredibly soft, comfortable feel, and despite advances in synthetic materials, continue to provide the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any insulation available. The one inherent weakness of down insulation is that it loses much of its ability to maintain warmth when it gets wet, but the DriDown featured in the Cosmic 20 Degree bag performs differently. Employing a unique, innovative polymer application, DriDown actually creates a hydrophobic finish on each individual plume of down. This treatment results in insulation that stays dry longer and dries faster, should it become wet, than that in bags with untreated down.

Baffled construction eliminates cold spots, keeping outside air from reaching the interior of the bag. A draft tube behind the 60" two-way locking zipper, a fully-insulated draft collar, and a contoured hood with an insulated hood baffle further enhance the thermal efficiency of the Cosmic 20 Degree bag. The hood utilizes Kelty's patented FatMan and Ribbon drawcords, allowing you to adjust the top or lower sections of the hood by feel even when it's dark outside. A polyester taffeta liner provides internal comfort.

The Kelty Cosmic 20 Degree sleeping bag is available in Short (fits up to 5’ 6”), Regular (up to 6' 0"), and Long (up to 6' 6") lengths. Each Cosmic 20 Degree bag includes a stuff sack.

I’m a big fan of this sleeping bag. It’s very comfortable and keeps me warm. The only gripe that I have is with the zipper. It just so doesn’t feel like it’s strong enough to last for a very long time.

Good Budget Minded Bag

Likes

This bag has received many great reviews. I can be assured the synthetic insulating material will not have an odor like some down does. I do not have to worry as much about it getting wet. It has a good price to weight ratio. I am excited to use this bag in the upcoming months. My run through before backpacking went well. It seems warm with even coverage.

Dislikes

None so far.

Lightweight, roomy, and packable

Likes

Very soft and comfortable interior, wide and roomy in the body section. I love the light weight and loft of this bag. I have not used it in cold temps yet, but it appears to be well made and up to the test. I am a cold sleeper, so I will prob not make it to 20 degrees in this bag without extra layers. I love the extra zipper guard to prevent snagging on the bag.

Dislikes

According to the label attached to the bag, it is "DUCK DOWN (Minimum Down 80%)....84%, and POLYESTER FIBER BATTING....16%. Very minimal. Still a super nice bag, I sure love mine

Good But not 20 Degrees

Likes

I like the price, this is an affordably prices bag. For the price it is light and well made. It is a very good bag for warmer weather. 40 degree and up it is great.

Dislikes

I have never been cold in a sleeping bag, but in this bag when it gets close to freezing, in the 30s I get really cold. I would like to see a little more insulation in a 20 degree bag.

Budget backpacking bag.

Likes

Warm, packs well

Dislikes

A tad on the narrow side. I'm fairly thin so this bags works fine for me. If you are wider, you may want a roomier bag.
