Simple backpacking tent
Lightweight, so roomy, ease of set-up
Simple tent for camping, backpacking, or car camping. A roomy interior, ease of set-up for one or two people, great breathability.
I haven't found it yet
Great so far
I am a solo camper who likes a little extra space for gear, and this has been good on a handful of frontcountry outings so far. I found the setup to be simple and fast (despite the diagram-only instructions). The storage pockets are a nice feature - clipped my headlamp to the side pocket one night to read for a bit. I am 5'6" and fit comfortably with a duffel bag without touching the sides. Was also able to stand and bend at the waist to change. Not sure how it holds up to weather as my outings have been on clear nights with lows in the 50s F.
Have had some issues with condensation buildup on the inside of the rainfly - staking the sides all the way out seems to help, but if the problem continues, will definitely be shopping again.
Super lightweight but very spacious tent. Easy to assemble and disassemble.
Small Enough room for 2 people Easy put up and take down Color coded everything, literally a child could set it up
The back side isn't mesh, which is weird
Great price, I am a beginner in back packing and this was a great price for a good tent that I can get started out in.
decent backpacking tent
spacious tent for 1 person and above average for 2 persons
on the slightly heavier side for backpacking use, however i would say it's more durable
Perfect for weekend backpacking trips!
Compact and easy to carry, with more than enough room for 2 people. Simple setup and pack up.
Excellent two man tent so far
Very easy to set up and included footprint saves some money.
A little on the heavy side, but worth it for the space and cost.
Marmot Catalyst 2p Review
I bought this tent because of the space, weight (not ultralight but not too heavy either), and footprint that came at a nice price tag. However, I was disappointed with the set-up and design of the tent. The three poles are more complicated than anticipated during set-up and they felt under designed especially the brow pole; I thought I was going to tear the tent when placing it. Not a fan of the fly either. The color coded buckles are a nice feature, but the asymmetrical fly is again under designed. Fly lies very close to tent (touching in some parts) and without having vents condensation is a big issue. I used extra stakes on the fly to vent and still had a lot of condensation. Lastly, the stakes are very cheap and bend easily. I would buy studier stakes and additional guy lines for this tent.
Overall, the material of the tent is sturdy and durable (except the stakes). Lots of space inside. I like that it came with its own footprint, and the price was great. But the design set-up and functionality of the tent are a killer.
Compact, lightweight, great price, and who wouldn't want an orange tent?!
None at all! Just what I wanted!
