Description

The Marmot Women’s Angel Fire 25 Degree sleeping bag is built for cool-to-mild weather backpacking and camping. For the price, you'd be hard pressed to find a better alternative to its combination of features and down-insulated performance. A relaxed mummy cut strikes a balance between warmth and comfort.

Marmot accounts for the anatomical differences between male and female campers and hikers when constructing gender-specific sleeping bags. Increased insulation in key areas better addresses those areas where women most often experience heat loss. A tapered cut provides a narrower fit at the shoulders and a wider flare at the hips to ensure a comfortable fit and maximum thermal efficiency. The shorter lengths of Marmot's women's bags help to avoid cold spots and make certain that your body isn't working unnecessarily to heat uninhabited areas of the bag.

The Women’s Angel Fire 25 Degree is insulated with 650+ fill down. Fill power measures the loft, or "fluffiness," of down insulation. Marmot goes to great lengths to guarantee the 650+ certification with a battery of in-house and external verifications. Renowned for their efficiency in retaining heat and compressible properties, the feathers and fibers of down have an incredibly soft, comfortable feel and, despite advances in synthetic materials, continue to provide the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any insulation available. The one weakness of down insulation is that it loses much of its ability to maintain warmth when it gets wet; this is less of a problem in the Women’s Angel Fire 25 Degree, though, since the down in this bag is protected with Marmot’s Down Defender water repellent treatment that allows the down to stay drier 10 times longer than untreated down in damp conditions. Down Defender down also maintains significantly more loft and dries faster than untreated down.

Eliminating cold spots and providing comfort, sewn-through baffles ensure that insulation is evenly distributed throughout the bag. Ground-level side seams make it difficult for body heat to escape through the zipper and a draft tube seals cold air out of the bag along the zipper. An ergonomic baffled hood helps to reduce heat loss and a down filled collar with drawcord adjustability helps to keep cold air from entering through the top of the bag. An integrated stash pocket provides a handy storage option for keys, lip balm and other small items. Zipper guards help to avoid irritating and damaging snags and two-way sliding zippers allows venting on warmer nights. An anatomically-shaped footbox is wider at the toes and narrower at the heels, providing a more natural fit while improving warmth and comfort.

The Marmot Women’s Angel Fire 25 Degree sleeping bag is available in your choice of Regular (fits 5' 6") and Long (5' 10") lengths and zipper side options. A stuff sack and storage sack are included.

Great 3 season backpacking sleeping bag

Likes

Strong warmth to weight ratio (light)! Good zippers, good design.

Dislikes

Inner material can feel "sticky" against shaved legs, but it's a minor issue easy to get used to.

Wish I could use it more!

Great fabric! Great color! Super warm! I wish I could use it more but it is so warm and I live and camp often in Texas so with the warmth I don't get to use it as often as I would like because it is so comfortable, soft and plush! I'm 5'9" and 140lbs so I got the long size. It fits me great and I love the way the foot of this sleeping bag is shaped to box in the feet but not restricting in the foot area no matter how you sleep. I can tell it has increased insulation for the female figure and it definitely makes a difference. I am a female who is cold all of the type and loves to snuggle up in thick warm bedding to fall asleep. This bag fits that bill. I haven't gotten it wet but in muggy conditions inside my tent I haven't noticed the down clumping or losing any loft at all. No cold spots with the way the fabric and down fills the spaces around the body without the down shifting or the bag being too restrictive. Lots of room in most of the bag to sleep on side, stomach or back for me as I move around a lot while I sleep. The bag compresses down fairly small and is pretty light weight for backpacking. I have room to spare when I pack it in the sleeping bag compartment in my Osprey Aura 65 bag. Zippers are a big thing for me and I haven't had problems like snagging or drafts with the zippers on this bag. Seals tightly around the neck and head area to create a great seal to keep warmth in when needed. I really am impressed with where the seams are as they are not uncomfortable and keep more heat in. Nice stash pocket. Great warm bag!

Dislikes

The mummy shape of this bag can be a little restricting around the knee and shin area. The way I sleep it doesn't really bother me unless I am moving around a lot to change positions. I could see how some people with certain sleeping positions or habits or different body types how this could be a problem. I have had quite a few feathers come through the fabric but not at an alarming rate or much more than my favorite down pillow.
