Works awesome when clean and used with a relatively new ceramic filter. Had it for about a year and took it on a trip and it began clogging and taking FOREVER to filter water. After replacing the ceramic filter, it worked like new again. Fills about a 32 oz bottle in 2-3 minutes when clean.

Dislikes

Ceramic filters are a bit expensive.

Its the only one I've ever used. I have nothing to compare it too. Amazing how it produces such nice clean water out of Lake Superior. Worked great.

Dislikes

You will be lucky if you can filter 1 liter of water a minute. I kept my filter clean and it took 2x that long. No complaints though.

I actually got this for my friend, while I got a Katadyn Vario for myself. This a pretty neat product, coming from the MSR stables. Works flawlessly, good durable quality, contoured handle design, reasonable speed of water flow. But, if I am asked to choose between a Katadyn Vario and a MSR MiniWorks, I shall go for a Katadyn Vario at any point of time. Check out my review of Katadyn Vario to know why I consider it as superior.

Dislikes

Pretty good overall, but MSR could beef up its product by including some additional features and better design from that of its competitor - Katadyn (pioneer in water purification field).

Small pack size for an efficient filter. Good for running streams. Still takes a little bit of effort for clean water.

Dislikes

you have to clean the filter often for dirtier water.

seems quite easy to use. doesn't take too long to fill up your water bladder. Was excited to use it for our backpacking trip as well as for emergency preparedness.

Dislikes

seems to be working great so far.

Produces very clean and tasty water. It easily packs away in my pack's side pouch and assembles quickly. The filter also cleans easily.

Dislikes

It takes some physical effort and time to produce a large volume of water. In order to fill two 1.5 L bottles and one 3 L bladder takes about 10 minutes of steady pumping.

Only used it on one outing so far, but easy to use, easy to maintain, easy to field strip if necessary. Seems to be a great product so far.

Dislikes

Seems to be a little on the heavy side, but its the only filter Ive ever owned, so I dont have anything to compare it to.
