Description

Incredibly durable, packed with numerous organizational features, including an integrated capacity-expanding overload shelf, and offering over 3900 cubic-inches of storage capacity, the Mystery Ranch Terraframe 65 internal frame backpack is ready-made for extending backpacking trips.

Balancing weight and strength, the pack utilizes a carbon fiber Guide Light MT frame to deliver maximum load stability while still providing performance-enhancing torsional flex. The rear panel can actually be pulled away from the body of the pack to create an overload shelf. Excess gear can be safely stowed and comfortably carried without eating into internal storage capacity. Built-in compression makes certain that contents stay secure and stabilized. Thick padding in the shoulder straps, backpanel, and waistbelt offers supportive cushioning. Adjustability throughout the suspension system, an adjustable sternum strap, and load-lifter straps combine to let you dial in fit and maximize balance. To further ensure a proper fit, the pack is available in a variety of sizes that accommodate differing torso lengths (see the Size Chart for recommended fit range).

The top-loading main compartment has a spindrift collar that helps to keep contents protected and can expand to accommodate extra layers or additional gear. Two vertical zippers allow quick-access to the interior of the packbag and together allow the whole face of the pack to fold open for "wide open" access.

Other features include two large front zippered pockets, zippered lid pockets, and stretch side pockets. Daisy chains on the front of the pack and on the lid provide additional places to lash gear. The removable lid can even be converted for use as a small summit pack. Side, front, and lower compression straps aid in load stabilization and offer another option for external gear lashing. Burly 330D Lite Plus Cordura fabric and sturdy YKK zippers deliver long-term durability and all-condition reliability. A lined sleeve against the frame has built-in tube-routing ports that make the pack hydration compatible (hydration system not included).

The Mystery Ranch Terraframe 65 backpack is available in your choice of size and color options.

Great Backpacking Bag

Likes

Great Size for backpacking trip 3 days. Held my gear comfortably and easy to adjust the frame system. Super versatile for adding over size loads if i have to pack out my wifes gear as well. High quality good fit and finish. I like the top part being used as a back pack that is big enough to hold my first aid, light, fire, and basic emergency gear with water reservoir if i needed in emergency to drop the main pack and go supper light to get help. Compression straps help a lot with inside load so when opening everything doesn't fall out when opening from the back. Great piece of gear and comfortable with heavy load.

Dislikes

Would have liked to seen molle connections on the back part of the pack

best backpacks on the planet!

Likes

Everything! Carried Dana Designs in the 90's when I started backpacking and did multiple week long and week plus long trips. Mystery Ranch packs are even better, benefit from time and experience incorporating everything learned into his packs.

Dislikes

Nothing! Just a suggestion Dana, put the diagonal compression on the Overload system, please! Maybe even put QD attach on both ends so the strap can be detached.

Large and small backpacks

Likes

The number of days of climbing determines the size of the backpack. Usually, the backpack must be changed for different days, but the terraframe 65 can be used universally, which is great!
