Description

With lightweight construction and a multitude of features the sleek and functional Osprey Talon 44 pack offers high performance and reliability for fast-and-light thru-hikes and weekend trips. Despite weighing less than 2.5 pounds the pack comfortably carries up to 40 pounds!

A peripheral aluminum frame combines with the AirScape backpanel to lend the pack flexible support and maximum breathability for combatting heat build-up between your back and the pack body. The adjustable Biostretch hipbelt and harness are padded with die-cut foam and covered in mesh to keep weight to a minimum. Together they enhance comfort and optimize fit. Further enhancing fit the hipbelt utilizes an ErgoPull closure that draws tension along the top and the bottom of the belt. Accommodating hikers of varying size the pack is available in Small/Medium (fits torso lengths ranging from 16”-20”) and Medium/Large (19”-23”) size options.

The storage capacity of the Small/Medium pack is 2563 cubic inches and the Medium/Large has a 2685 cubic inch capacity. The top-loading main compartment is accessed beneath a removable lid. There is also a lower sleeping bag compartment that is accessed from a zippered front entry. A large stretch mesh front shove-it pocket side stretch woven pockets and zippered lid pockets offer additional organizational options. Larger zippered pockets on the hipbelt offer quick and easy access to other gear and trail essentials. Compression straps enable you to cinch down the packbag to keep contents safely in place.

Other features include a Stow-on-the-Go trekking pole attachment ice axe attachments with bungee tie-offs removable sleeping pad straps and a stretch mesh front harness pocket. A lined exterior compartment makes the pack hydration system compatible (hydration system sold separately) and makes it possible to refill your reservoir without having to access the interior of the pack.

The Osprey Talon 44 backpack is available in your choice of size and color options.

Super lite weight medium hauler

Likes

This backpack is extremely lite weight. It has all the whip whistles and balloons typically associated with Osprey packs. I would put its max weight limit as accurate described at 35-40lbs.

Dislikes

My only complaint and it's really minor. In fact, it may be do to my body shape(broad shoulders and 6'1" ). The shoulder straps don't wrap around or seat on my torso like a Deuter of Ortovox packs do. However, it is not uncomfortable under weight.

This is what I was dreaming about

Likes

Very lightweight and comfortable It has a removable pocket at the top which is very convenient, and also a few useful pockets for snacks or bottle of water or other stuff

Dislikes

I haven't found any cons yet, just do not overload it if you are going on a long hike

Great for long day hikes or short overnights

Likes

I love Osprey packs and this one doesn't disappoint. It's light and comfortable, and can take a load for an overnight if you pack light, or a long day hike with lots of gear (e.g. layers for cold weather).

Dislikes

I think that for most people, this would be too small for a longer (3+ day) trip.

Great pack to do it all

Likes

Very versatile pack; can handle long day hikes and shorter overnight trips. The stow and go trekking pole storage is super convenient as well. I wanted something that was lightweight yet still could handle a good amount of gear and this pack fit that description perfectly

Dislikes

Not much to dislike...
