The Sierra Designs Meteor 4 offers an excellent space-to-weight ratio and reliable durability for 3-season backpacking or camping.
The tent provides 55 square feet of interior space and has an overhead peak height of 46”. Vestibules in front of the dual large D-shaped doors grant an additional 18 square feet (9 square feet per vestibule) of exterior storage space for wet or muddy shoes and gear.
Two DAC Press Fit aluminum poles create sturdy structure and color-coded clip construction make erecting the tent simple. The freestanding design allows you to pitch the tent and then move it around your campsite to find the optimum position, eliminating an uncomfortable night's sleep over an exposed root or rock. Pre-bent architecture increases the steepness of the exterior walls, resulting in more usable space inside the tent and a more “livable” feel when weather keeps you inside. Stakes are included to ensure a secure, taut pitch.
Extensive mesh on the body of the tents promotes airflow and helps to prevent condensation build-up on the interior of the tent. The PU-coated 68D, 190T polyester taffeta rainfly and floor keep the interior of the tent dry and fully taped seams bolster weather protection. An included easy-access stuff sack makes it easy to carry and store the tent when not in use.
The optional Sierra Designs Meteor 4 footprint (sold separately) can be used to further protect the floor of the tent against ground water, roots and rocks.
