I use these Shepards hook style stakes to guide out my tent if needed or to fly the doors on my tent. They are great took in the UL toolkit. I still will use something a bit sturdier for the base of the tent. These things stayed put at a steep angle in sand.

Could have the hook dipped or painted for visibility.
