A trimmed-down version of the best-selling Tungsten tent, the Marmot Tungsten UL 4P maximizes livability while providing up to 4 backpackers or campers with 3-season performance at a weight just over 5 pounds.

Description

A trimmed-down version of the best-selling Tungsten tent, the Marmot Tungsten UL 4P maximizes livability while providing up to 4 backpackers or campers with 3-season performance at a weight just over 5 pounds.

Easily accessed on either side by dual D-shaped doors, the interior of the tent offers 51 square feet of floor space. A front vestibule provides 11 square feet of weather-protected external storage space and a smaller vestibule over the second door offers an additional 7.8 square feet of protection. A lamp shade pocket meant to hold a headlamp (not included) can provide ambient interior lighting.

The unique, pre-bent "knees" of the tent's DAC Pressfit aluminum poles pull the tent body taut, avoiding the unusable corners frequently found inside tents and maximizing livability. Employing integrated color-coded clips, the tent body attaches quickly, easily, and securely to the poles, creating a freestanding design that enables you to set up the tent and then move it around your chosen campsite to find the optimal rock-and-root-free position.

Extensive mesh on the walls and ceiling ensure excellent ventilation and keeps condensation to a minimum. Both the fully weatherproof rain fly and floor are seam sealed and the catenary cut of the floor keeps the edges of the tent away from the ground in wet weather. The custom-fit Marmot Tungsten UL 4P Footprint (sold separately) can be used to further protect the floor of the tent from sharp objects, mud and ground water.

  • Zone pre-bend construction creates vertical walls for roomier sleeping area and greater head room
  • Free-standing design with two D-shaped doors and two vestibules for gear storage
  • Rain-shield polyester flysheet doesn't stretch and sag when wet and resists damage from
  • UV Lampshade pocket securely holds your headlamp to provide ambient light
  • Strategic clip placement provides larger interior volume
  • Seam-taped, full-coverage fly with vents
  • Seam-taped bathtub floor
  • Color-coded "easy pitch" clips, poles and fly

Very light and spacious for 3

Likes

We (2 adults and a boy at 10y) brought this tent for one night backpacking trip and because of its light weight we were able to carry extra water for extreme hot day. Return trip was breeze again due to its weight and small size. Highly recommend.

Dislikes

Rain fly and inner mesh is not far enough. We brought tent to shoreline campground near Santa Cruz. In the morning it becomes foggy and water will be trapped inside rain fly. Then it touched internal mesh structure and transferred water into the tent. Instruction could be clearer to mention that rain fly should be pulled away to have space in between rain fly and mesh structure.
