Description

The classic MSR Evo Ascent snowshoe is a fantastic combination of durability, versatility, and affordability. The molded UniBody frame holds up to backcountry demands and the integrated traction rails and crampon tackle varied conditions.

The streamlined profile of the snowshoe optimizes agility and efficiency by promoting an easy, natural stride. The molded platform is incredibly rugged especially considering how lightweight it is. A pivoting crampon moves freely but is designed to not over rotate, allowing you to maintain a free range of motion without jeopardizing balance.

The three-forefoot strap binding ensures a secure and widely adjustable fit that accommodates a broad range of types of footwear. A heel strap further enables you to snug in the fit. On steep terrain, the Televator heel lifter can be easily pulled into position with a gloved hand to reduce calf fatigue and better distribute load across the entire frame.

The suggested weight recommendation for the 22” snowshoe is 120-220 pounds. A modular design enables you to utilize the MSR Evo Tail (sold separately) when conditions and weight demand greater flotation.

The MSR Evo Ascent snowshoe is sold in pairs.

Quality Build

Likes

Superior build quality. Durable polymer and metal and rubber in all the right places. Strong and supple strapping. Aesthetically pleasing and balanced color scheme: black, grey, and red.

Dislikes

Not enough snow this year.

So Far, So Good...

Likes

I've only had these snowshoes for a few weeks now (and only two outings), but they've been performing well so far. For the price, these are really top of the line – good traction and build quality.

Dislikes

The one downside with the plastic construction is that it can be a bit louder than other aluminum based snowshoes. The Lightning series – with its nylon surface is also probably a bit quieter.

These snowshoes would make bigfoot jealous

Likes

These are super lightweight, have amazing stability and the strap system is easy to use even with thick gloves. I've tried a variety of snowshoes and these were by far the best performers I've ever used. The slim profile made it easy to get around without clipping the sides on narrow paths. Honestly, I can't say enough about how great these performed.

Dislikes

I feel like I am going to get ambushed by Bigfoot (aka a Yeti) who wants these bad boys for themselves.

A lot of bang for the buck!

I took these snowshoes for the first time on a day hike up to Temple Crag/Big Pine Lakes, CA. Pretty decent float and very easy binding system to put on. Overall very satisfied!!
